Are you scared of the dentist?

A fear of the dentist is a common occurrence; many people suffer from dental anxiety and often put off visiting a dentist for this very reason. If you are one of the many people who are scared of the dentist then there are many ways to try to ease your anxiety.

There are many reasons why you many have a fear of the dentist. It could simply be the thought of treatment, or it could be related to a negative experience you have had in the past. The good news is that more and more dentists understand their patients’ fears. Simply choosing a good dentist can ease the anxiety many patients feel.

An understanding, patient and kind dental team can reassure you that treatment need not be a traumatic experience. Technological advances have improved dentistry over the past few years. The dental wand is great for anyone with a needle phobia. A numbing gel can also be used to numb your gums before an injection, which means that you will not feel the needle.
