Month 7: Start Of January
Happy new year!! Unfortunately, the end of December didn’t go very well with my aligners: it turns out my aligners were hurting so much because I hadn’t been putting them properly so the back of the aligner wasn’t sitting over my teeth correctly and I hadn’t noticed. I became aware of this when the following set of aligners didn’t fit, and I realised my teeth hadn’t been moving fully.
As you know from my last blog my teeth have been recently hurting much more than normal and I didn’t know why. I figured that it was just a bigger change for my teeth but it turns out I was wrong, because as it turned out I wasn’t putting them in properly.
As we only realised this a few days before my holiday, I didn’t have time to book an appointment to see the dentist. So I had to go on holiday only wearing the bottom aligner. As I only had the bottom teeth covered it felt incredibly weird and uncomfortable – that’s why I encourage you if you get Invisalign that you use the rubber chewies which make your aligners go in properly so you don’t have an uncomfortable two weeks like me.
During those two weeks my dad was worried that my top teeth would go back to how they looked at the start, I was also worried. There was nothing I could do apart from wait and see what happened.
