This is a copy of the article that I wrote few years ago for one of the popular Shropshire magazine, so just in case you missed it.

This is a common scenario; Mr or Mrs, let’s call them Jones, book an appointment at their popular dental practice. The following month they have the very ‘Big Day’, their daughter’s wedding.

The ‘Jones’s’ teeth are generally fine but they would like to make them look good, younger looking and healthy. Sometimes it may only require the replacement of an old restoration or they may just want them brighter to make them look better on the wedding photographs.
It is amazing how many people leave this until the very last minute.

Thanks to modern dental techniques often we can meet their expectations. It is possible to make Mr and Mrs Jones proud of their smile by placing modern, tooth-coloured fillings or brighten the teeth generally by using light activated tooth whitening systems. The latter usually require just over one hour to create a true, smile makeover in many situations.
It is always better to plan any form of cosmetic work well ahead as alternative solutions can be considered such as porcelain crowns and veneers.

Also the replacement of missing teeth with bridges or dental implants will require more time.
