Unsure About Braces?

Everybody wants to have their dream smile and sometimes the best way to achieve this is through the use of braces.

There are a wide range of braces available, from plates to traditional metal brackets but unfortunately, over time these have developed a stigma for being obviously visible against teeth, uncomfortable and unpleasant to the eye. However, not only are there other options available that are more comfortable and allow you to keep confidence with your smile, but there are many physical and mental health benefits associated with braces:

  • Improving oral health – straighter teeth are easier to clean,
  • Enables clearer speech – aligning teeth can improve jaw movement,
  • Enhances digestive health – properly chewed food is easier for the body to digest,
  • Improve confidence – straightening teeth can reduce insecurities over smiling.

There are several other reasons adults might need braces:

  • Correcting over or under-bites,
  • Treat temporomandibular joint (TMJ),

Or simply to achieve the perfect simile.

The thought of the traditional metal braces might be putting you off using braces to fix dental issues, but there are other options available with Shifnal Dental Care:

Invisible Braces

Invisible braces are the same as traditional braces, but are either transparent or tooth coloured, so that their appearance on the teeth are minimised allowing them to subtly enhance your smile. They are much less noticeable than traditional braces and may move the teeth much faster than clear plastic aligners.

Invisalign®

If you are considering orthodontics to straighten your teeth, but you don’t want fixed braces, then Invisalign is the ideal solution for you to try. This type of orthodontic treatment straightens your teeth through a series of transparent, removable aligners that are custom tailored specifically for your teeth. These smooth, comfortable plastic aligners sit over your teeth and gradually move them through replacing them every two weeks until you have achieved your dream smile.

Both of these options offer the same end result as traditional braces, whilst allowing you to remain confident throughout the treatment.
